Yirong supplies 100mm EPS foam wall panels to American customers

Recently, Yirong sandwich panel supplier arranged for the delivery of 100mm thick eps foam wall panels to American customers. A total of three containers have been delivered, and all of them have been delivered.

In the field of EPS (polystyrene foam) wallboard, thickness is never a simple size parameter, but a key to performance upgrading. The 100mm thick EPS wall panels shipped by Yirong this time are customized products for the high insulation and multi functional needs of the US construction market.

High insulation

The core performance of EPS lies in its low thermal conductivity (about 0.038W/(m · K)), while a thickness of 100mm results in a thermal resistance value (R value) of 3.2 ㎡ · K/W (75mm thick EPS only 2.4). This is crucial for the high temperature climate in Houston, USA. During summer air conditioning cooling, a 100mm thick wall panel can reduce indoor heat permeability by 40%. Combined with the insulation glass used in the project, it can control indoor temperature fluctuations within ± 3 ℃, significantly reducing energy consumption costs.

High structure

Different from the fragile impression of ordinary thin EPS foam wall panels, the 100mm thick EPS wall panel is reinforced with double-sided cement-based cladding layers (each with a thickness of 1.5mm) and internal mesh cloth, with an overall compressive strength of 80kPa (the national standard ordinary EPS panel is only 50kPa). During on-site testing, workers used a 1-ton forklift to crush the surface of the board, leaving only a slight indentation without breaking. This feature allows it to be directly used as a non dismantling template for light steel structure roofs, eliminating the need for additional support structures and shortening the construction period by 15%.

High sound insulation

The community center is adjacent to the main urban road, and noise control is a key design focus. The weighted sound insulation (Rw) of 100mm thick EPS wall panel reaches 42dB (38dB for 75mm thickness), and with the reflection and absorption of sound waves by the internal micro closed cell structure, it can effectively block traffic noise by more than 60%. The acoustic engineer of the project simulated and calculated that the indoor noise will decrease from 75 decibels to 45 decibels (close to the library environment) after installation, perfectly meeting the noise reduction requirements of public spaces.

Excellent weather resistance

In view of the characteristics of coastal high humidity (75% annual relative humidity) and frequent rainstorm in summer, Yirong sandwich panel supplier has upgraded the EPS wall panel with dual prevention. Adding hydrophobic agents to the surface coating reduces the water absorption rate to 0.8% (1.5% for ordinary EPS panels). Internally added with flame retardant, the combustion performance reaches B1 level (compliant with ASTM E84 standard in the United States), which can slow down the combustion rate even in the event of an unexpected fire. After on-site sampling and soaking for 72 hours, the weight of the board only increased by 0.3%, far below the 1% required by the American standard.
